Everyone says that when you are pregnant you have this beautiful thick hair. While mine never reached what I thought was it's full potential of thickness, I did notice that it didn't fall out in the shower as much. Little side note for those of you without curly hair: everyone looses hair throughout the day. If you have curly hair, instead of randomly falling out those strands get stuck in the curls, product, etc. so they end up falling out in the shower. The other thing that everyone says is about three months after the baby is born all that thick beautiful hair falls out. Well guess who's going bald?! It's ridiculous. Every time I take a shower there is a clump of hair that falls out. And I mean a clump. It's about the size of a small animal. Perhaps the size of a mouse or what I imagine a baby squirel would be. Nasty. The garbage can in my bathroom is full of hair balls. I feel like if I didn't get the beautiful thick hair, I should not get the thin nasty hair. I realize that at some point in my life I will be practically bald (thank you Lichok family) but I was kind of hoping it would be slightly later.
On to the next balding lady. That would be Alexa. Poor thing was born with two things working against her in the balding category. First, she has a double coulick (sp?) (thank you again, Lichok family) which appears kind of thin on the back/top of her head. And secondly, the kid was born with a bald spot on her occiput. Seriously, that spot that babies get from laying on their back too much, Alexa was born with it. That's just not a good start for her little head. So of course I'm slightly obcessed with the bald spot getting bigger and I don't want her to have a flat head. So she has always been put to sleep on her side (I know, bad mom. I put babies to sleep on their sides at work and I put babies to sleep on their sides at home). Plus, she sleeps on her belly when she takes naps during the day. So now she has a bald spot on the back of her head that's growing from when she's in her car seat, bouncy seat, etc. she has a bald spot on either side of her head from when she sleeps and to top it off her head is growing and her hair is thinning out. Poor thing, the hair is sparse to say the least. Oh well, at least it still lays down flat. :) Hopefully in the next couple months we will both get some new growth. Until then, try not to pay too much attention to the little hair on baldie and baldette.
